OUR HISTORY:

– 1961, Opening of Practice

in 1961 Joseph Gruber purchased an existing dental practice on Hydraulic Street in Yorkville, IL where he practiced for the next 12 years.

Due to the growing demands of his practice he moved to a larger office in the newly built Bank of Yorkville building in Countryside Center.

– 1973, Dr. Dennis Kostal Joins

Looking to expand again in the early 1970’s, Dr. Gruber II hired a recently graduated dentist, Dr. Dennis Kostal, and in 1973 expanded the practice to offer two full-time dentists, and Gruber & Kostal Dentistry was formed.

Throughout the following decades, as dentistry evolved and progressed, so did Gruber & Kostal Dentistry, and it continued to serve the dental needs of Yorkville and its surrounding communities.

– 1988 , Dr. Joe Gruber III Joins

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU:

  • Implants

Dental implants replace a missing tooth’s root and are used to support crowns, bridges, and full-arch dentures.  Resembling a small screw, dental implants are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw, and then allowed to heal and integrate into the bone.  Once the implant has fully integrated into the bone, work can begin on designing and placing a crown or bridge to replace the missing tooth or teeth. Today implants are the gold-standard of care to replace missing teeth and are widely used.  They provide superior esthetic and functional results, and have excellent success rates.  If you have any questions regarding dental implant placement, please let us know!

  • Extractions

While we strive to maintain and save teeth, sometimes its necessary to remove a tooth to improve the overall health of your mouth, and with modern techniques and local anesthesia, gone are the days where removing a tooth is painful. If a tooth is decayed past the point of saving or, if due to periodontal disease, is too loose to properly function, its often beneficial to remove the diseased tooth and replace it with either an implant, bridge, or partial denture.  Removing a tooth is a slow and controlled procedure that aims to minimize trauma to neighboring teeth and gingiva, and while you’ll feel a bit of pressure during an extraction, the entire experience is no more uncomfortable than any other dental work.

  • Veneers

If you would like to change both the color and shape of your teeth, veneers are the treatment of choice.  A veneer is essentially a thin shell of porcelain that is cemented onto the outer surface of a tooth with a minimal amount of natural tooth structure removed.  Veneers can correct minor spaces, crooked teeth, or just improve the shape, color, and overall look of your existing teeth.
